Let’s Get Together…
The Brass Tacks Ensemble’s Play Reading Club will read Flow My Tears, The Policeman Said by Linda Hartinian, adapted from the novel by Phillip K. Dick.
There will be a short discussion afterward about basic impressions, clarity, theatricality, and universality/accessibility of the piece.
There are speaking parts for 9-11 actors.
We will assign roles and have the script available (a PDF on the Google Drive) in the Zoom Chat before the reading starts. Please arrive a few minutes early.
IMPORTANT: Audio will be done using phone audio-only — no internet audio. You may join using any device, but you must dial in on your phone to use audio. This is to reduce the amount of delay between lines. If this is an issue, please contact us.
FLOW MY TEARS, THE POLICEMAN SAID
Linda Hartinian, adapted from the novel by Phillip K. Dick
After an attempt on his life, a TV show host wakes up in a reality where he does not exist. He quickly becomes a fugitive in a police state, relying on criminals, former lovers (who don’t remember him), and strangers for help, even as the cops try to figure out who he is and whether he’s actually committed a crime. Further complicating matters are genetic engineering, full-time surveillance, and usage of very weird drugs.
